The challenge
The Altoona Area Chamber of Commerce has been a longtime client of Global Reach. Their website was previously redesigned in 2019 using a basic template design.
After recently being awarded a grant to help improve their online presence, they were ready to upgrade to a custom design. Their wish list included a modern yet hometown-inspired look, engaging features such as a hero video, better-organized navigation, content translation capabilities, and support for WCAG compliance guidelines.
The solution
Global Reach’s design team got to work re-envisioning the homepage with a magazine-like, engaging layout. It was important for the site to feel hometown-friendly while also promoting events and resources.
Elements were included to highlight the sponsors, partners, and members who help make the community and the Chamber successful. A custom design was brought to the events page, featuring bright images, robust search functionality, and a grid layout to help residents and visitors quickly find what interests them.
Global Reach also worked with the client to reorganize the main navigation, making resources easier to find. To simplify website management, we added a registrations module to help manage ticketed events.
