The challenge
Global Reach envisioned a single web tool that could bring the nation's electric cooperatives together to share outage information and provide assistance to one another.
The solution
Global Reach designed and developed National Outages & Mutual Aid to achieve our vision. With NOMA, statewide electrical associations and their cooperatives have a unified place to display their outage information, prepare for damaging weather events, and provide mutual aid to their peers.
NOMA has three main services: Forecasts, Outage Mapping, and Mutual Aid.
In Forecasts, users can see upcoming precipitation, wind, and ice forecasts for their areas. Users can also set text or email alerts for forecasted ice damage. This allows our electric cooperative clients to prepare for eminent outages.
In our Outage Mapping section, clients have a place to display their outage maps as well as administrative tools to view historical outages in a line graph filtered by county, cooperative, and date ranges. From there, administrators can export the data set and view further outage and resource information.
With our Mutual Aid tools, users can enter outage events, such as damaging storms, and ask nearby cooperatives for assistance by sharing crews and resources.
