Our History

The “Captain Jack” name began in 1977, when Bill Dennis started doing aerial traffic reports for WHO radio and went by the nickname Captain Jack. Bill Dennis had a degree from Creighton University in Radio, Television and Journalism and had been in broadcasting since 1961. Under the new found alias of Captain Jack, Bill started programming computers in the early 1980’s when “home” computers first came out. Since there were very few commercial computer programs available, he learned to program on his own and began writing programs for other businesses. By 1994 and after the client base began to grow, Captain Jack was running a small web hosting business dubbed Captain Jack Communications. In 2007, Captain Jack Communications, Inc. was purchased by Harvey Freese and Charlie Notis. In 2011, Captain Jack Communications, Inc. was purchased by Global Reach Internet Productions, Inc.

In 2011, Global Reach Internet Productions acquired Captain Jack Communications. Founded in 1995, Global Reach Internet Productions is now the oldest and largest web firm in the state of Iowa. Serving more than 1000 businesses, we are both focused on building a better web presence for our clients and we specialize in website design in Iowa.
